Casus Belli
In the year 615 NE (New Era), the Black Sails pirates agreed with the Toran Kingdom to attack and raid the ships and lands of Lavina, Harwan, and Yandor, to weaken the regional trade and take most of the spoils for themselves. They started to focus on the trade routes of the counties and kingdoms on the Orgon continent and Koji Empire for a few years. In 618 NE, they started to raid the shore cities of Lavina and Yandor. These attacks drew the attention of the Midland Counties, who made a union with Koji Empire against the Black Sails and arranged an attack to stop the raiding.Parties

History
The Cyan War began when the Black Sails pirates, in agreement with the Toran Kingdom, started raiding the ships and lands of Lavina, Harwan, and Yandor in 615 NE. The purpose of these attacks was to weaken the regional trade and gain most of the spoils for themselves. They continued to focus on trade routes for a few years and began raiding the shore cities of Lavina and Yandor in 618 NE.
In January 619 NE, the Midland Counties and Koji Empire formed an alliance in response to the pirate raids and decided to stop the raiding by attacking the Black Sails. Black Sails knew that the upcoming Midland Counties and Koji Empire armada were coming and asked the Toran Kingdom for aid, but they refused to admit the alliance and didn't send any ships. The Toran Kingdom, a proud magocracy, was willing to take significant risks to reclaim its status as the preeminent arcane kingdom in Yavarra, supplanting the power of the Harwan and Midland Counties. However, when faced with fierce opposition from the Koji Empire and Midland Counties, the Toran Kingdom quickly backtracked and denied any involvement in the brewing conflict.
As the armada of Midland Counties and Koji Empire were fighting the main forces of the Black Sails, a small group of Kojin ships moved towards the inner side of Lanka. On their way, they attacked Ellaya shores, destroyed villages, killed most of Ellaya's population, and almost destroyed Pearl and the city of Marinna. After the devastating attack, some pirates of the Pearl acknowledged their position and decided to unite the isles and nurture their own kingdom, forming Unity.
The Black Sails became disillusioned with their organization when they witnessed the suffering of the common people on the islands they called home. While the Black Sails had always been responsible for the trade and commerce that sustained the islands, many of the pirates saw their duty to their fellow islanders as paramount. As the conflict erupted on their doorstep, many of the Black Sails' rank and file chose to side with their people, organizing the heads of the island families to propose a union with the Midland Counties and Koji Empire. This faction of the Black Sails was led by Adran Amakiir, a young elf undine at the time.
After a long and arduous battle, the Midland Counties and Koji Empire alliance emerged victorious over the Black Sails. Koji Empire built an artificial lighthouse - "Taiyō no ie" ("House of the sun" in the Koji language) - and formed a new Guild of Artificers of Unity to support its construction.
Aftermath
When the last fights on the islands were resolved, and most of the "Black Sails" were killed or deserted, the Cyan War ended. It lasted for almost a full year (15 months).
Ruling families of the islands and captains of some pirate ships that took the side of the people in the Cyan War decided to set in stone their unity under one rule and settled on the ruling structure - January 9, 620, is the day when Unity was marked as a new country on the map of Yavarra by the Cartographers Guild. One of the former pirate captains, Ardan Amakiir, was chosen as an Admiral of the Unity Navy (military force) to join the ruling families in forming a new country and government. The formation of the Unity organization brought about a new era of cooperation and prosperity for the islands.
The Black Sails were devoted to their lifestyle and laid low after the war, hidden in the deepest caves of Lanka, gathering their strength, offended by the 'betrayers' who once were in their ranks.
Midland Kingdoms worked on rebuilding their fleet and renewing the trade routes.
Koji Empire made a few dedicated raids on the "Black Sails" hideouts to retrieve stolen artifacts and rare goods, with the help of Unity Blue Jackets and Navy. Kojins proposed to build an artificial lighthouse on the shore of Katerna. The construction lasted for almost two years and was finished on Velesen 21, 622. Because of the specific nature of the lighthouse, it was decided to organize a Guild of Artificers to look after the structure.
The Toran Kingdom suffered a loss of reputation and power as a result of their failed attempt to gain dominance over Yavarra. This experience made them cautious in their diplomatic efforts in the years that followed.
