Large construct, artifact
"Blackwater" is an artificial device imbued with dark magic, reminiscent of the divine magic of the force of nature. In essence, it interacts with the water and creates an area effect that makes the water much less dense. The effect makes water in the area appear a very dark color, hence the name of the artifact.

Background
Initially, the concept of the device belonged to a kojin Natsuki Ichiro, an artificer of the Koji Empire. Natsuki worked for the Shogunate of the Імперія Коджи // Koji Empire back in the period of Ціанова Війна // Cyan War in 619 N.E. He was allocated on Marinna at that time, where kojins had a base of operations, a vault built in the Freefalls mountain range on Marinna, and worked on creating a means to confront the fierce battle force of the Black Sails pirates. In his research, Natsuki found an orb that is now known as The Eye of the Lotan. This artifact is one of those left by Unknown before his imprisonment. Lotan talked to Natsuki and tried to make some sort of pact but didn't prevail. Natsuki managed to sustain common sense and resisted the will of the demigod. But the idea of creating some sort of a device that would alter big masses of water to sink ships lasted long in his mind, slowly growing and forming into a prototype. All the work he had on this device he has recorded in the Spellshard.
In the months of the Ціанова Війна // Cyan War, the Spellshard was lost and retrieved a couple of times. It was a target for the Чорні Вітрила // Black Sails as soon as they get to know about it. Eventually, a group of pirates who had stolen the Spellshard hid in the ruins of the city of Hass on Еллая // Ellaya in an attempt to escape from the pursuit of the Сині Жакети // Blue Jackets. But nothing was heard about them afterward.
Black Sails worked with the Spellshard as much as they could whenever they had it in possession. After the War, Кевас Унорат // Kevas Unorath, triton captain who recently acquired the title of the Gale King, made sure that the project is not forgotten and being worked on. The scholars he brought kept working on the project, but Black Sails didn't manage to progress in it for hundreds of years. About 20 years ago, in 1105, Kevas invited a young artificer, Аманда Гакслі // Amanda Huxley, who was eager to work and prove herself, to the crew that worked on the project. It is thanks to her that pirates now have a working prototype of the device, which they are slowly and carefully testing.
