The explosive mirror to the material plane; this is a plane full of whimsy, magic, and most importantly emotion. Various creatures, big and small, are more vibrant personifications of existing creatures on the material and even ideals & concepts. An emotional state is not simply a phase of emotion around here, it can be an entire environment - ecosystem. All of the residents on this plane play into it or work against it. There are various tribes of creatures that live in the Feywild from Sprites & Pixie to the Redcaps and Fomorian. Each tribe usually surrounds one powerful leading figure - typically an Archfey. All Archfey either pledge fealty, or work against the Fey Courts. Grander changes to the Feywilds usually only occur when there is a consultation of the Fey Court.
When it comes to day-to-day actions, much of the tribes are left to their own devices. These devices include the harvesting & trading of Emotional Trinkets. Within the Feywild as different civilizations rise & fall, hence gold can be minted, reminted, melted.. it doesn't hold as much place as it does on the material. Finding items that have gained meaning from the material is a thriving business, for these trinkets hold a power of their own on the Feywild. Emotional energies can be harvested to add to a Fey's power, or traded for favors & other such bartered services as money does in the material. This leads to many a different activities that many people on the material would call troublesome to actually be a form of harvesting for the Fey.
Pixies hone their trickery to harvest anxiety, annoyance, happiness & sorrow from people. Archfey hold the promise of wishes & powers to be capable of using mortals for sewing a wide variety of discourse just to harvest the most potent of emotions.
Leaving the Feywilds tends to leave mortals with memories of the place feeling like dreams.

Emotional trinkets are significant for anchoring the land of the Feywild to a season, effectively avoiding turning into chaotic turmoil. This produces a main layer that allows a sublayer of plantlife to exist. For example, a land could be summer in all that it encompasses but some plants could still grow in there with joy, or sorrow while having an umbrella of summer and its emotions over it.
