The Bookburners are the four slaves who rebelled against the Magnapuri Empire and took part in the Burning of the Book of Names. The group had been active for some time prior to 1011 YM, and the surviving members continued to fight the Empire after burning the book.
The members are:
- The Timekeeper (AKA Punak Chambaya) - a halfling who worked as the Timekeeper for Lord Lust, who organised the group's actions and liaised with other rebel groups. To avoid spilling important information, he slit his own throat using a poorly worded order from Lord Lust, who knew his name.
- Adhina - a half elf entertainer whose elven mother was from the lands near the Ren Shu. They work to seduce Lord Lust to gain access to his chambers, and is maimed, losing their nose, in the infiltration and escape.
- Grin - a dwarf miner who provides some of the muscle, but not the brains, of the team. He is the one who actually burns the book when he believes he is unable to escape, and rescues a badly injured Adhina before breaking out of the manor.
- Tomothy - a dwarf cleric who also provides some muscle, as well as some holy magic of Gionedes. Tomothy dies holding off Lord Lust so that Adhina and Grin can escape with the book.
