The island of Korujo is decimated by the Hurricane Belt every 150 years or so. Throughout history, in times of calm, people forget about the past destruction and decide to try settling there again. Since more reliable records have been kept in recent times, Korujo is seen as nothing more than a treasure trove of past civilizations to raid from temporary encampments. A tribe of nomadic is currently in the process of extracting riches from the various excavation sites on the island, but they split up because one leader wanted to try to maintain cultural artifacts from the destroyed civilizations while the other just wanted to get as rich as possible. The tribe split the island and went their separate ways.
