Martial arts in Alfaysia are meant to be fairly common. The feats and styles below were developed to allow other classes to dabble in the martial arts. If you want a focused martial arts character that borders on the fantastic, then taking levels in the monk class may be a better choice.
Martial Arts (Feat)
You have training in one of the martial arts styles of Alfaysia. You gain the following benefits.
- You are proficient with unarmed strikes and they use a d4 for damage.
- Unarmed strikes become finesse weapons for you.
- You learn two maneuvers of your choice from among those available to the Martial Artist (see custom list). If a maneuver you use requires your target to make a saving throw to resist the maneuver's effects, the saving throw DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier (your choice). These maneuvers may only be used with unarmed strikes or a monk weapon. If you already have superiority dice, you gain one more; otherwise, you have one superiority die, which is a d6. This die is used to fuel your maneuvers. A superiority die is expended when you use it. You regain your expended superiority dice when you finish a short or long rest.
[Playtest Option: Monks may spend 2 ki to regain a superiority die.]
[Playtest Option: Incorporate styles from Fighting Style list]
[Playtest Option: Expert only maneuvers specific to the style]
