Midas

God of Wealth

Midas is a lesser deity of wealth and trade throughout the lands of Alyndryca.  The Merchant's Friend is venerated and appeased by not only merchants, from lowly peddlers to the wealthy owners of trading companies, but investors, accountants, entrepreneurs, caravan guides, warehouse owners, philanthropists, deal-makers, moneylenders, and other such individuals. They are a god of commerce and the accumulation of wealth through free and fair trade, as well as the beneficial use of wealth to improve civilization. At the same time Midas is the god of illicit trade and the patron of many smugglers, fences, black marketeers, and "businessmen" on the shady side of commerce.

Midas' origin is unknown, and they embody multiple aspects of wealth within various cultures under other names.
