In orcish, their name means "those that were stripped".
When the war for the world was at its hight, they refused to join the Grav'Kuliavhas (Great Uniter) and the other Orc tribes assembled to defend Terntolgalan, and instead attempted to seize the lands left weakened by the other orc's absence. Outraged by this treachery and recognising that their defiance might spread further discord and result in the annihilation of them all, the combined tribes beseeched the great warrior god Gruumsh to intervene. In their prayers, they spoke loudly of the disrespect shown to the god himself by the rejection of his champions commands. Although he heard the validity of their complaints, Gruumsh was loath to eradicate an entire line of his people. Instead, he cursed them twofold - once for their cowardice and again for their treachery. He stripped from them their coloured flesh and hampered their ability to reason, forever marking them apart from other orcs in both appearance, temperament and ability. As an additional act of mercy, he imbued them with great physical size and strength, as he understood that they would be forced to survive alone and be taken advantage of other, keener minds.
