Mountport is a rugged mountain port town situated on the eastern slopes of a towering peak. The town is divided into two distinct areas - Mounthaven, a cloister of caverns and crevasses that served as the initial city grounds, and Mountpoint, a peaceful herbal community nestled at the top of the mountain. Despite the stark differences between the two areas, they have come to function as a single cohesive entity over time, with Mountport serving as the colloquial name for the entire settlement.

Mounthaven

The older and more established of the two sections, is a maze of narrow streets and winding alleys carved into the mountain's rocky slopes. Many of the buildings are constructed from the same brown, rough-hewn stone that characterizes the surrounding peaks, giving the town a rugged, earthy feel. Over time, as the settlement grew, newer structures were erected on top of the older ones, creating a layered, labyrinthine cityscape.

Mountpoint

In contrast, Mountpoint is a peaceful, verdant community situated at the very top of the mountain. It is home to a health retreat and healing circle, open to any who make the journey and provide an offering to the community. The air is crisp and clear, and the surrounding hills are alive with the sweet scent of herbs and wildflowers. The residents of Mountpoint are known for their herbal remedies and natural healing techniques, and travelers from far and wide make the journey to seek their counsel.

Despite its remote location, Mountport has become a vital center of trade and commerce, with ships from all over the known world making the perilous journey up the treacherous mountain pass to dock in the bustling port below. The town is particularly renowned for its timber industry, with many skilled woodworkers and carpenters plying their trade in the busy docks and workshops. Despite the harsh and unforgiving terrain, Mountport has thrived over the years, and its people are proud of their rugged mountain home.
