Torrint's Seat was the capital city of the The Everstar Isles until a miasma of rot suddenly erupted from the city, killing tens of thousands of mortal races and dragons alike; the rot would sear the scales from dragons and cause madness in men. There were no recorded survivors of this event and it was later dubbed the Rotted Expanse.
When the Rotted Expanse began to spread to the other islands of the Everstar, the dragonflights of the isles banded together to put a stop to the rot. Metallic, chromatic, gem, and even the primal elemental dragons would come together for a guaranteed suicide mission. Thousands from each dragonflight flew across the waters to the scar and burned every inch of the island with their collective elemental breaths, glassing the very ground that once housed the isle's very capital. Thousands of dragons died in this gambit as the miasma tore them apart from the inside out and induced madness in those mortal few who chose to join them.
The end result was the Rotted Scar, a ruinous and uninhabitable island full of rotten dragons and madness stricken men. Quarantined off from the rest of Everstar, it is said that the ancient spirits of those who sacrificed themselves to halt the spread still guard the Scar to this day, destroying anyone who would trespass and risk the spread of the Rot once more.
