"Arcavius Nero, our standout Squire from the Dawnsilver Riders, may not have a flashy record yet, but what he lacks in stories, he makes up for with a rock-solid spirit and a true knight's heart. He's seriously into learning the ropes of statecraft and lives by our order's principles in everything he does. That's something I, as his first teacher, am really proud of." - Knight Adelyn Stormwing

Description

Arcavius is a Champion from Sabrelot on the Everstar isles. Accompanied by his ever-faithful griffon Aurelia, he works ever in service to The Dawnsilver Riders as a Squire. He was assigned, initially, to Seraphine Duskfall, an elven Knight of the Order who was charged with teaching Arcavius. He sports dark hair with an off-red colouring, usually plagued with helmet-hair, and has icy blue eyes. His armour is typically in good condition and well washed whenever possible, as befitting a knight, he holds himself to a high set of standards and it shows.

Personality

Arcavius is composed and level-headed, possessing a gentle nature. He does his best to understand those around him, and is typically the last to start a fight. Ever eager to grow, he approaches each challenge like a puzzle, with an open mind and a desire to learn. His responsibilities are serious to him, especially through his dedication to the Dawnsilver Riders, and Sabrelot in general, he is guided by a desire to do well by The Order and do well by his people. Guided by his principles of honour and diplomacy, he seeks peaceful resolutions wherever necessary, but will not shy away from defending himself and others when words fail. Despite the self-doubt he faces as a Squire from time to time, he can draw strength from his companions in times of need, not least those being his griffon, Aurelia.

In battle, Arcavius aspires to inspire. His role as Squire reinforces his ability to aid and assist in combat, whether that be healing in the midst of a fight, or flanking an enemy so someone can get a good hit in, or outright throwing off someone's stance by shoving a griffon in their face.

Abilities

As a Champion, Arcavius wields a unique blend of limited, yet powerful, divine magic. This magic, potent in its own right, is used sparingly, as he finds greater strength in his martial discipline and skill. It's this grounded approach to combat that truly defines his role in battle.

Aurelia, his griffon companion, is not just a partner but an extension of his combat prowess. Their synergy in battle is unmistakable, whether they're fighting side-by-side on the ground or Arcavius is commanding from atop Aurelia's back. This bond goes beyond mere companionship; it's a tactical advantage that he values immensely.

Arcavius excels in using polearms, wielding them with a precision that's both elegant and effective. His skill is not just in landing blows but in creating opportunities for his allies. By tripping opponents and opening their defenses, he sets the stage for his teammates to strike. This tactic speaks volumes of his understanding of teamwork and his dedication to the success of the group over individual glory.
