Description

At a glance, Mort presents as a humanoid skeleton that has been weathered by time, likely having been around much, much longer than your average undead servant. His bones have been chipped and carefully replaced with gold or gemstone fillings, his lower jaw and fingers having long since been replaced with gold replacements, and his forearms and palm having been switched out for a solid onyx approximation. While ludicrously garish on their own, these adornments also add heft to the otherwise fairly light skeleton’s arms.

There’s no indication that Mort was ever human, elf, or otherwise, yet his stature isn’t that of a giant or other massive creature.

Mort moves around in a set of garish, yet evidently well maintained, tights with ragged leather boots– though more notable in his outfit is the large cloak, held in place by two massive, gem-encrusted pauldrons, yet another article of clothing that seems to add weight to the skeleton’s body. The long cloak shimmers like the bright sun in the light, dazzling all who see it. Or…blinding them. Finally, clasped around his waist is ever a garishly decorated golden championship belt, with “El Morte” engraved into the nameplate.

Despite appearances, Mort moves with energetic and flashy motions that make use of his attire. He moves to entertain and to draw attention, and his presence is very difficult to ignore.

Personality

Proud, loud, and with exceptional flair. A performer at heart– or soul, depending on your interpretation– he is not likely to remain silent or idle for long. When not actively putting on a show, Mort enjoys spreading tales of his grand adventures, daring exploits, and ludicrous feats, the veracity of which is often left to individual speculation.

Still, the charismatic and boisterous nature has garnered him a name for himself, and fangs among those who follow Akarn’s national sport of wrestling all across Falanar.

Abilities

Mort has an almost supernatural strength, considering there is not a muscle left to be found on the dried up old bones. An expert grappler whose awareness in a fight betrays a keen understanding of how to control the flow of any performance, deadly or otherwise. He is strong enough to reposition and disrupt enemy combatants, and charismatic enough to ensure the whole spectacle is entertaining.
