History of House Argent
The Argents are an old family originating in France. They rose to prominence after Jeanne-Marie Argent managed to kill the Beast of Gevaudan in 1764. Earning her the title “The Maid of Geveudan.”
In 1764, Marie was the sister of Sebastien Valet and a skilled hunter who was skeptical of the supernatural's existence. When the beast attacks her village, Marie leads a hunting party to kill it as per her brother's request. They hunted from dawn to dusk, but, when night falls, The Beast attacks. She was rescued by Camile Argent who explained that the beast was a werewolf and offered to teach her how to combat the supernatural. Marie-Jeanne poured wine for everyone in the inn and discovers Marcel, while not the Beast, has been covering for the creature by hiding the bodies in the inn's cellar. She was shocked to discover that her own brother is the monster and had no remorse for what he had done. With Camile’s help, she forged a steel spear tip in the shape of a fleur-de-lis mixed with Mountain Ash, Wolfsbane, and her own blood under the light of a full moon. For three years, Marie hunted Sebastien until the winter of 1767 finally. She picked up the spear that was hidden in the snow. She quickly turned to face Sebastien. Momentum carried the beast onto the spear which protrudes out of his back. As Sebastien dies, she promises that history may remember him, but only as a beast. Marie and the townspeople initiated Damnatio Memoriae to erase every trace of her brother's existence until Marcel found a way to revive him. Marie and Camile eventually marry and start a family.
After Jeanne-Marie killed the beast it was discovered that it was not the only beast terrorizing Europe. Jeanne-Marie decided in 1765 that someone had to stand up against these monsters and protect innocent people from harm. She then officially began the tradition of the Argent family being the hunters who protect the world from monsters.
Fast forward to 1920, Shortly after the first world war Argent made reforms to their family and entered the stage of Futa Houses. In this day and age when Futa houses were still getting started up, Argent quickly became the big powerhouse keeping an eye and leading the other houses while at the same time keeping up with their job to keep people safe.
In 1939 shortly before the second world war. The leadership of Argent came across a woman named Serevine. Serevine deceived Argent and pulled them on the wrong side of the neithinist wars. One of the main players in this war Was Veronica Ravenshire. A woman with a power that nobody had ever seen before. Argent was wary of this woman and stood across from her on the battlefield thanks to Serevines deception. During the war, Argent discovered that Serevine had deceived them. Argent promptly set up a secret meeting with Veronica Ravenshire. They gave Veronica all the information that they had and joined her side in the war. This war was a major turning point in the war and shortly after it was over with Veronica as the victor.
Veronica was now the main power in the Futa world and Argent was closely allied with her.
However, as a result of being deceived, Veronica decided that house Argent’s talents would be better spent focussing on the protection of innocent people as they have done in the past. It was declared that house Argent would receive special protection keeping them out of the politics of the futa houses. Argent was not to be attacked by any house, just like Argent was not to attack another house. This arrangement was quite beneficial for Argent as it allowed them to not worry about things they never had an affinity for anyway.
1969, Imperia began interfering with earth, creatures much more powerful than anything Argent had faced before began popping up. These were dark times for the house, they took many losses as the monsters they were now facing had upped their game. With their numbers severely diminished and their power in Europe fading rapidly the house decided to move to the United States. The head of House Argent at the time moved with her wife to the states and left her sister behind in France to guard over their assets.
2010, New York was under attack, X-com and Argent were both on the scene but Argent was severely outgunned. The threats they were facing were far greater than anything up until this point. The entire planet came close to being destroyed but luckily X-com and its heroes were able to prevent it. It was after New York that it became blatantly clear that Argent was no longer relevant to the threats that the world was facing.
We fast forward to modern days. 2020 House Argent was lead by Emmanuelle Argent and her wife Chanel Argent. The two had two daughters, twins, Tiffany and Nikki Argent. By this time the twins were rapidly making a name for themselves as the best hunters and tag team in the history of the family. The twins each had their strengths, and combining them made them the perfect tag team. Tiffany is perhaps the most skilled hunter in the world, she is quick, fast thinking, and seems to have a special affinity for combat and hunting. She is headstrong, impulsive, and easily angered. Her sister Nikki, while a skilled hunter, her forte was more strategy, Nikki is calm and collected, she analyses everything she sees and compiles information to make quick strategies perfectly tailored to her own and TIffany’s skillsets.
