Anaxes: The Enforced Bastion of the Grand Moff
After the fall of Coruscant, Admiral Stavar Ulgo ascended as the self-proclaimed Grand Moff of Anaxes, solidifying his grip on the planet with an iron will. Already steeped in Imperial loyalty and militaristic tradition, Anaxes has become a grim fortress under Ulgo’s rule, where the ideals of strength and control are taken to their extreme.
The Shadow of Ulgo’s Regime
Life on Anaxes has grown harsher under Grand Moff Ulgo’s command. Mandatory conscription enforces a steady stream of recruits into his military forces, regardless of their aptitude or willingness. Civil liberties are nonexistent, with movement between cities and even within planetary sectors restricted unless authorized by the regime.
The populace is subjected to rigorous re-education programs, with schools teaching propaganda tailored by the Grand Moff himself. Curricula emphasize absolute loyalty, martial discipline, and disdain for other Imperial factions, the New Republic, and even the broader galaxy. Dissent is rooted out swiftly, with informant networks ensuring that loyalty to Ulgo is absolute.
Trade with other planets, even among Imperial Remnants, is nearly nonexistent, as Ulgo seeks to maintain control over Anaxes’ self-sufficiency and isolation. Black markets thrive in the shadows, but they are constantly at risk of exposure by the regime’s patrols.
Militarization and Expansion
Under Ulgo’s militant vision, Anaxes has transformed into a military powerhouse. The Anaxes War College, once a prestigious institution, has been expanded into an immense complex that churns out officers and tacticians loyal to Ulgo’s vision. Its training regimen is grueling, designed to instill not only skill but unwavering loyalty to the Grand Moff’s rule.
Every major city on Anaxes serves a militarized function. Factories produce weapons, starships, and supplies for the Grand Moff’s forces, while urban centers are fortified with garrisons and anti-orbital defenses. Civilians are expected to contribute directly to the war machine, whether through labor, enlistment, or logistical support.
The backbone and largest force of the Anaxes Military structure is the Stormtrooper Corps; they, much like the officers who make up the higher ranks of the military, are a volunteer force. Consisting of the most vicious, well-trained and loyal to Ulgo’s cause that can be found amongst the ranks, the Stormtroopers of Anaxes have a reputation for ruthlessness and brutality that is unmatched by other imperial forces.
A World Cloaked in Secrecy
To outsiders, Anaxes is a black box. Few leave the planet, and even fewer enter without explicit permission from the regime. Those within the Imperial Remnants know little of the day-to-day life on the planet, save for tales of Ulgo’s iron rule and his ambitious expansion of the War College. Spies and intelligence operatives find it nearly impossible to infiltrate the regime, as Ulgo’s network of enforcers and surveillance keeps the planet under constant watch.
Rumors suggest that dissent does exist, but any attempts at rebellion are crushed with brutal efficiency. Public executions and forced disappearances have become a grim norm, serving as stark warnings to those who might question the Grand Moff’s authority.
The Strain on the People
For the people of Anaxes, life under Ulgo’s rule is bleak. The militarized society leaves little room for personal freedom or expression. Families are often torn apart by conscription, and the relentless propaganda sows distrust even among neighbors. The once-thriving cultural pride of Anaxes has withered, replaced by a culture of fear and subservience.
Those who do survive the War College or conscription often find themselves consigned to lifelong service in Ulgo’s forces, far from home and with no prospect of returning to civilian life. Entire generations have grown up knowing nothing but the rigid structure of Ulgo’s regime.
