Backstory
Born into a family of slaves in Hutt Space, Hatorran was strong and large for a Twi’lek, which was very useful for a man intended to be a labourer for his masters. His good nature meant that he looked out for other slaves who weren’t so lucky, those who struggled or who needed more support, whether that was in their work or outside of it. Life was hard for all of the slaves, but Hatorran quickly found himself as a leader in the community as he got older, someone that his fellows could trust.
Taking this responsibility seriously, Hatorran leaned into the traditions of his people and parents, including the tattoos of his people from the region they hailed from on Ryloth. His care for his fellow slaves grew into a deep-rooted sense of responsibility, and then into a protectiveness. One day, one of the crueller slave-masters decided to make an example of one of them, a younger man who was barely more than a boy in Hatorran’s eyes. Not willing to stand by and watch a senseless murder, he moved with unusual speed and strength to kill the slavemaster with his bare hands. Moments after he did it, he was saved by the timely arrival of the Jedi, who were on a mission to free the slaves from Hutt captivity. After he and his fellows were liberated and taken out of Hutt space, Hatorran’s sensitivity to the force was recognised, and he was given the offer to join the Jedi. He didn’t immediately accept it. It was only after trying to get real education, meeting the love of his life, and feeling that he was ready that he returned to Dantooine and trained, now having spent over a decade as part of the Order.
Appearance
A male Twi'lek that's in his early thirties. He has bright red skin with elaborate white tattoos across the face, lekku and body.
Personality
Hatorran is personable and affable, and encourages his students to be the same. He believes that a Jedi should, at their heart, care about other people and want to give back to the galaxy, rather than simply feel obligated to do so by what they perceive as their duty. Hatorran is soft-hearted and caring, and is quick to become protective of any students he is around. However, he has fallen for the puppy dog eyes trick enough to become resistant to it now. Mostly.
Skillset & Role
Hatorran is both a warrior and diplomat, being highly skilled in combat and able to not only engage with but dispatch multiple opponents if he must. However, he is also very capable in negotiations, diplomacy or other social situations. Thanks to his history as a labourer and his powerful physical build, he is also capable of dealing with physical challenges competently, whether that challenge is to his stamina, his ability to handle a hand-to-hand engagement, or simple brute strength. Due to living in Hutt Space as a slave for so many years and meeting various types of people, he has a good knowledge of peoples in the Outer Rim.
