History and Goals
The Coven of Whispers is a sect of primarily druids and other followers of nature who take residence in the forest on Wolfsbane that houses the leyline of nature. They devote themselves to the study and protection of the natural world. Some prefer to learn and practice in seclusion back in their grove, but many will wander Aeternia to see the beauty and learn all the lessons it has to offer. A small group of Cover of Whispers members have taken up residence near Grest, in order to be near Atonement of the Stars. They share their knowledge in both directions and hope to come to a complete understanding of how all the systems of the world work together.
Although most of the original members of the Coven have passed since it was formed, but one of its original three founders, Caen, still lives in the forests of Wolfbane. While she has stepped down from a leadership position, she still takes an active role in the protection sacred sites and important people within the coven. Caen, along with Thalia and Ria originally began gathering allies to form The Coven of Whispers to aid in dealing with an ancient cult living in the area that is now the island of Ido. This cult was the first to discover the powers of the Void leyline and the three druids viewed them as a threat to the balance of Aeternia. Ria died in the assault on the cultist compound, but Caen and Thalia worked together to cast a spell that leveled the entire area, uncovering the leyline of death in the process. Ido's cold, nearly lifeless terrain is a reminder of that battle to this day. Caen and Thalia returned to Wolfsbane in seclusion and as stories of their defeat of the cult spread, more allies came to their side. Over time, The Coven of Whispers grew to a sizeable group of druids, scholars, mages, and common folk with a united belief in their sacred charge to protect Nature from Void. To this day, the true location of the Void leyline is difficult to pin down. Some have attempted travel to it, but none have returned successfully.
In the present, The Coven of Whispers continues to work to protect their home, their leyline, and aid Praktri. Their numbers are not as large as they once were, but they work with The Atonement of the Stars and occasionally the Timeskippers to locate the Void leyline, all aware of the destruction it could cause should a new guardian or deity awaken and claim its power.
The Coven has a tenuous history with the Knowledge Inspired Artisans after one of its members successfully executed a contract against a senior member of the Coven. While previously they had a mutual, business-like understanding, the Coven views the Artisans as brash and profiteering over an aspect of life that should not be meddled in.

CoW's colors are green and gold. The faction's badge is a golden shield entwined by a green thorn plant.
