Explorers' Guild

An entirely above-board shipping company. Primarily concerned with logistics and transport of sensitive goods from either side of the portal, the First Landing Company strives for precise bookkeeping and careful handling of all acquisitions and materials needed for the successful logistical operation of a fledgling city such as First Landing.

There are, of course, accusations that it is a front for the local Thieves' Guild, but naturally there are no documents proving this, nor any real evidence of such things.

In addition, the First Landing Company has a joint operation in running a small salon for upper class individuals, wealthy patrons of all sorts can enjoy fine company and finer furniture in a relaxing environment, and even partake in interesting diversions, such as having their fortunes read by genuine masters of the occult.

The organization hires employees only on an invite only basis, prospective Company members often need to show in public an acumen for logistics, handling of sensitive goods, and the ability to procure them even in strained times. As well as a propensity to not get caught doing their illicit work.

Location Traits

Adventuring Kit (Minor)

  • The First Landing Company skims legally procures extra supplies for member use. 
  • This trait grants each member a single free item from the trait's Catalogue, no higher than their own character level, with the consumable trait every time they go on a quest
  • This item is temporary, lasts until the quest is over, and cannot be used while in town or during special events
  • L1: Lesser Healing Potion
  • L3: Moderate Silvertongue Mutagen
  • L5: Potion of Leaping
  • L7: Escape Fulu


Employer (Deception)

  • The First Landing Company gladly offers employment to all its member
  • The Earn Income Downtime activity may be taken by any with access, following the normal rules of that activity


Training Grounds (Major)

  • The First Landing Company has begun to leverage its growing network of contacts to help its members learn new skills lightning fast, reducing the downtime cost of Retraining.
  • The downtime cost for Retraining a 7 day task is reduced to 2 DT. The downtime cost for Retraining a 28 day task is reduced to 14 DT.


Expertise (Deception, Minor)

  • As generous as The Scry is to allow non-members to write for them is, the editors provide more hands-on support to their members. And while the First Landing Company’s “Lost item finding service” has always been reserved for members, it now has a wider network to ensure items are returned for the highest price possible.
  • Members gain a +1 circumstance bonus to deception checks while within First Landing, when they can consult with the organization.
