Participants: Artur Firefist, Sukemoru Uzuto, Ruun, Najat Gevesh, Caelitis
Locations: Elemental Portal Shrine, Elemental Plane of Air
Loose ends: access to the Elemental Plane of Air and the wonders within
Short summary:
A group wanted to investigate the Shrine. After some shenaniganary, they were thrown into the Elemental Plane of Air by one of the Mephits there, who conjured up a temporary portal. The group explored around, killed some Air Elementals, found some treasure, and managed to return to First Landing.
Full report:
I tasked myself with finding a group and venturing to the Elemental Shrine I read about. I found Najat, Uzuto, Ruun, and Caelitis (Cae). The five of us left in a rainstorm on the way we heard the rain falling on glass. This glass were actually cold-aligned Elementals; they looked like snakes. We fought them using magic and ingenuity. Ruun distilled Frost Vials out of them. We soon made it to the Elemental Shrine. We rested to ensure we were prepared for whatever layed inside. We met the Air Mephit there. He is an ass. He sent us to the Elemental Plane of Air and we fought Elementals there. These were air aligned. The first were bats made of lightning. The next were hawks who swooped in and out of the floating island we were on. The beasts were vicious but we fought them off. We moved towards where another Air Mephit said we should go. After resting we found what looked to be an old temple or something where magic was abundant. We fought Living Thunderclaps, creatures capable of firing lightning at us. This deafened me for a bit. We exploded one of the crystals damaging and slowing the three creatures. We were victorious. We found an assortment of items. Including a Bag of Holding. Very fun.
There is not much to eat in the Elemental Plane of Air, so one should make sure to bring provisions. Any prospective explorers should make sure to bring a method to make traveling between different islands simpler, such as flight or ropes.
After gathering in the Pug, we headed out to the shrine so Artur could try to learn some language. Upon arriving, Artur cast some magic and tried talking to some Elemental with a falcon for a head. Might have been a costume and it was interesting. Will study him more later. Anyway, on the way to the Shrine we were distracted by some icicles. I went to investigate and was attacked by the ice, which turned out to be snakes. Artur, Cae, Uzuto and Najat saved me by using their expertise. I wouldn’t be standing here without them. From these snakes I was able to pull the frost and make some frost vials which turned out to be quite strong. Back to the Shrine. The falcon did something to us and we were transported to an island that was floating. Artur said the Plane of Air. We walked around and were attacked by birds. They did not play nice even though they tasted good. Found out that these Elementals and birds withstood poison. Luckily I paid Artur and was able to get some of his formulaes which helped aid us in battle. We entered into the Plane's circle where there was a floating gem. With a strong strike from Najat and Uzuto they weakened the Elementals. With Cae's powerful healing music, Uzuto, Najat and Artur were able to keep the Elementals at bay. Once subdued, we were able to find our way back home with some interesting treasure.

Najat Gevesh here with some (I hope useful) tips for anyone who wishes to follow our path someday into the strange realm my companions already described.
The Elemental Plane of Air lacks any type of sun-moon cycle. Don’t rely on your knowledge of the stars to orient yourself here. Find a high place in order to plot your journey.
Beware of the skies! Creatures here seem to travel through the air with ease. Most of what we encountered ambushed us from above. Lightning fast creatures, they like to use fly-by attacks to hunt their prey. Ranged weapons are recommended.
Find a safe place to camp. Wind in this realm is a strong force of nature. Don’t overestimate its power.
Having the right equipment is key to traverse this land. Ropes, grappling hooks, climbing kits… Nature here is dynamic and unpredictable, and the floating islands won’t be kind to unprepared explorers.
Also, please, if you find any of those “Elemental Imps”... just... don’t trust a word they say. They seem to have the power to open the portals to their home Planes, and they won’t hesitate to throw anyone through it without warning. Beware of what you request from them.
Be safe out there...
