Larian had a mostly uneventful and happy childhood. He barely remembers his mother, who died when he was still very young, mostly her soft voice and affectionate touch. However, his father, a former footsoldier turned fisherman, did the best he could to raise him.

Larian worked their small plot of land and helped his father on his fishing trips; they didn't have much, but it was enough for him. At least, until the fateful day in which Larian stayed home, too ill to embark on the fishing boat. It wasn't the first time his father went fishing alone, but it was the last. That very morning a storm suddenly struck, causing tremendous damage to the village and the young man to wait months for his father's return.

Even though the village recovered quickly from the storm, the same couldn't be said for Larian. Things weren't the same since then, nothing seemed to matter anymore, and he felt his potential was being wasted in that small fishing village. That's when he overheard some loud people at the tavern speaking about joining the Explorers' Guild and going through a portal to the New World. This opportunity seemed like what he was waiting for. He quickly sold all he had left, bought the supplies, and left his village to never return, toward the New World.
