A recently founded hamlet of Greenside Farmstead (hamlet only in name, really, as it's only a bunch of farmhouses scattered among the fields of crops) near First Landing has been surprisingly prosperous for some time, now, providing the town with locally grown produce. Something troubling must have happened though, as there haven't been any signs or news from the hamlet in days. This needs to be investigated, and the Guild is willing to pay. - Quest prompt.

Loose Threads: Bogey escaped.

Full report: Nosuch

Our adventure began when rumours of strange occurrences in the nearby hamlet of Greenside the estimable innkeeper Elvira. Shipments of food to First Landing had halted, and she sought doughty adventurers to travel there and investigate. Our party included Krunsh, Urthok, Shugorot, Panuta Wahle, and myself, Nosuch. We set out in high spirits with little inkling of the horrors and tragedy that awaited us.

En route we spoke to a woodpecker who gave us cryptic warnings, and upon reaching Greenside we found the place shut up tight.  The only sign of life was within a common building, and after some discussion with the locals we were let inside.

We met the town notables: 'Ma', Father Kiril, Sister Vasilisa, and Murom, and learned that they’ve been plagued by villainous face thieves. Our first attempt to explore the town was thwarted when we were pelted by pumpkins — one carved with a face. I will freely admit that I was thoroughly frightened by this and the whole experience stirred up deep gourd-related fears.

In the morning I released my emotional frustration on a scarecrow that happened to be a terrible monster created by a “Bogey”. The battle was perilous but we succeeded.

We investigated further and discovered that the house spirits had been acting strangely. Before gaining an audience with them we engaged in a musical battle of rhyme and wits with a cow to procure her milk.

Milk in hand we spoke to the house spirits—a Domovoi, a Dvorovoi, and a Ovinnik—which was confusing, but we learned more about the situation in the end. Our final battle pitted us against two more of the Bogeys, but one escaped.
