Moonwing Climb is a Fey settlement situated on and around pillar-like rock formations that descend from the Everfog Mountains down to Avilion proper. The town clings to these pillars, and individual parts of it are connected via rope bridges, stone viaducts, and winding stairs. Columns and pilasters are a common architectural feature; countless spires and obelisks are present, each one a needle that pricks the heavens, each one a sundial and a moondial. Greenery throngs the spaces between buildings, and is allowed to grow wildly.
The largest part of the population consists of Nykteras, famous for their hospitality, but other types of Fey live here as well, especially those comfortable with heights and winds, like winged Sprites. Hesperids often dwell here due to stunning sunsets witnessed from Moonwing Climb.
The settlement is bustling with activity in the last quarter of the day, when shadows grow darker, the sun begins to set, and night claims the lands.
While there is a multitude of pillars, a number of them stands out, both in size and stature, and in purpose; they are the hubs of public activity, and serve different specialised purposes. The lesser pillars are often where the private residences are located, but they can also be seen closer to the bases of the larger Pillars as well.
