Report For a Quest Requested by Janshai Farlight

Master Alchemist Janshai Farlight has requested samples from a dangerous fauna that has been sighted in the Millennium Forest. Myself, known as Lord Eltharion the Lustrous, my friend QuinLord Jean and the Unknown known as Agromash have gathered together to respond to that request.

Day 1:

We begin our ride towards the east. Hours have passed, we came across a tree with a hole under it. After a few careful glances we have agreed there was a mole hole under it. It did not look dangerous so we chose to ignore it, having more pressing matters at hand.

Our journey to the forest is halfway done. Quin suggests we take a look at the Shrine nearby. When we arrive, the orc understands there is a grim aura in the air, something which of course I have felt as well. On further examination we can distinguish a couple of, what could only be Unknown, far as the eye can see.

I am the first to turn around the horse and return to my path, believing that even though this has to be dealt with, it could take a great amount of our time and it would require further planning. The rest soon follow.

We have finally reached the forest. The small raindrop that has started gives a relaxing feeling to my heart. We decide to camp between the forest and the plains.

A most peculiar thing happened. A tiny Fairy woke me up. He seems friendly but sadly although I do speak some languages, the forest creature’s language is not one of them. Lord Jean seems to be able to at least comprehend what he means to tell us and I think he only wanted to help us. What a sweet little guy. He gave us some magic powder to help us on our journey.

Day 2:

We started searching as soon as we woke up, but luck was not on our side. We wasted a lot of time looking around the forest trying to find clues, to no avail. Later that day we saw a deer, with a trail of blood left behind. It was clear that the deer bled to death. That intrigued us and caused us to have suspicious thoughts. Our prey can probably bleed its enemies to death.

Following the trail, we end up on a grove. Stinking of blood and death, a large plant has taken its roots to syphon the blood from the soil. I have to stop now, need to prepare myself.

As we approached we felt something move to our left and right. Jean used lightning magic to hit those things although I couldn’t see what they were. Quin is a smart guy, he brought fire bombs and started throwing them. It appeared there were smaller plants around us and the fire was very effective. Taking the chance Quin gave me, I advanced to lead the charge as anyone of my stature should. I cut the first one in half but was surrounded by another. Feels like I should have made sure the one in front of me died, as I felt the pain from both my foes, that started bleeding me. A faulty assumption of them that they regretted. Thanks to the power of the light that resides in me and the healing magic Jean possesses, our wounds were closing faster than they were bleeding. With Quin’s support I made sure to not make the same mistake twice. Flanking the two plants I made short work of both while protecting Quin as much as I could. The orc Agromash, on the other side with Jean made the same to another pair of plants. While this was going on the large plant in the middle of the grove moved forward yet it was still pretty far away. I’d estimate around forty feet. It started lashing its long vines at Jean, who took a relentless beating. Nothing he couldn’t handle with his superior healing. The large plant seemed to have around four times the reach of the smaller ones. Having defeated the little ones, me and Quin charged at the big plant. Surrounded it and started slashing away.

These plants are dangerous when surrounded. They lash out their vines to all directions around them. Nothing we couldn’t handle. Quin dodged skillfully and hit it with a fire bomb to its face and the liquid contents set the plant ablaze. Thanks to Quin the monster was weakened and with a combined effort of myself and the orc, the large plant fell to our weapons.

Our adversary had consumed a lot of things when we cut it open. We decided that instead of taking simple samples, we could take the whole plantoid creatures back to the Alchemist for further research. Having Jean’s and Agromash’s horses take up the little ones, me and Quin tied our ropes from our horses to the larger one, with the intent to drag it all the way back, after of course resting for the night.

Day 3:

We are riding back to First Landing. We are considering to pass through the Shrine but it is better if we come back after we deliver our prey and finish that responsibility and preferably without the orc. Unexpectedly Quin sees a small figure on the horizon, the exact opposite way of the shrine.

When I turn to look, I can tell it is a pale and scrawny figure, but I suggest we do not draw away from our path. Perhaps another time we will find him or search for him.

We have delivered the prey to Janshai Farlight, who pays us handsomely as a reward.
