We met at the the Blinking Pug and discussed the mission before setting out to explore the forest, the objective was to kill and gather blood samples from the creatures that were alchemically experimented on by rogue mages and alchemists. A special one was a young red dragon or drake.
The beasts don't seem to be venturing outside of the woods, as our walk there was uneventful, but, the moment we stepped inside, we noticed a clear lack of the sounds of wildlife, which suggest that the mutated creatures are highly territorial and have scared away or killed all the other animals in that area.
At the end of the first day, we were assailed by a mutated Giant Stag Beetle that had purple eyes and sploches around its body. It was defeated quickly, and it didn't seem to display any very unusual abilities, but both of our frontline warriors were injuried by it, so we decided to retreat and leave this for a better equiped team.
The blood from the beetle was gathered, but it likely won't be enough to give conclusive answers.
