Full Report

The party met up in the Blinking Pug, where they investigated a missive that had been updated frequently with the quest information. Looking at a list of the stolen goods, they determind thathe thrieves were primerily interested in food and shiney objects, stealing among other things a maul, daggers, cutlery, and magnifying glasses. Upon speaking with General Gilbert, they were told that the missive had been unanswered for nearly 6 months, and that they were the first in the guild to take an interest in investigating. Further, that the thefts had been happening continuously rather than at regular intervals, and that no sign of the thieves had ever been spotted.

Investigating the storeroom, the party found a sulfurous-smelling weasel buried in a pile of magnifying glasses, which was quickly caught and put in a net. After a discussion and a swift test, it was determined that while the weasel was magical in some way, it was not the product of the infamous weasel bag that turned anything you put in it into a weasel. Theories abounded as to if it was a druidic companion or a wizard's familiar, but it was swiftly dispatched regardless. Descending into the second basement level, the party discovered that the tracks of the weasels, of which there were many, lead to a cabinet pushed up against the wall and that a large hole was torn in the wall behind said cabinet, an access point for the weasels. Shortly after moving the cabinet they were assailed by a group of weasels as well as a weasel swarm, which were swiftly dealt with.

Entering the hole, the party swiftly came to a T-junction, and decided to take the westward path. They came to another small junction, one side appearing to be boarded up while the other lead to a collapsed tunnel. They tore down the barrier after hearing voices on the other side, only to be confronted by Elvira and told sternly that they'd ruined repairs done in the basement of the Blinking Pug. Leaving, they attempted to clear the caved in portion, only to fail miserably without tools and were attacked by more weasels and accompanying swarms, which escaped with a stolen lantern from Skarn. Eventually they gave up and decided to try the tunnel in the easterly direction.

Following the tunnel east, they discovered a pit filled with skeletons, which were scared off by repeated use of cantrip attacks, revealing the pit was in fact a chamber that went on further than expected. They made a note to return here, and leapt over the pit to continue their journey. After walking long enough to be certain they were outside the walls of First Landing, they spotted a light in the distance, the light of the stolen lantern. The party read the tracks on the ground, determining some larger creatures with paws the size of panthers and bears lay ahead, accompanied by the weasels they'd become familiar with. They poisoned their weapons and rounded the corner on a den of weasels, swarms, and two Megalictis that joined the weasels in battle. The party fought well, but was eventually overwhelmed, and had to escape using their guild recallers to survive.
