Deciding to explore the Coalition capitols, the party asked around Roanokae Camp and found out from Oukra that there was going to be a festival in New Hezrath. Deciding that it would be fun to see, the group acquired directions and made their way there. It was a long overland journey, even with the hastened speed and mounts the group possessed, and part of the way required passing through the small town of Ryker's Crossing. The party acquired lodging and poked around the town, with Jean finding a gambling den run by kobolds while the others wiled away the time in the tavern. The leader of the den informed the group that future visitors could name drop him to gain entry to the den, as he was such a good patron. The next day the group ran into some small trouble, encountering and quickly defeating a group of gorgons. After Uzuto made sure to harvest their meat for later, the trek continued, eventually reaching the city in question. Upon arrival, a heavily injured orc was seen making his way to the city. Upon conversing with the orc, named Krath, Uzuto gave him some minor medical care before the group bargained their way into the city with the Speaker, presumably a solar dragon of considerable might. Deciding that the best thing to do would be to listen to a speech by the Ecclesiarch of the city before splitting ways to our own projects, everyone listened as the Ecclesiarch claimed that Eudosius would bring peace to the lands of the Republic and the Pact. Afterwards, Uzuto acquired healing for Krath, while everyone else explored the town and acquired lodging at the Pillow Prince Inn. The culture seemed to revere dragons and dragonkin so the lodging was the finest possible and all complimentary. After Krath promised Uzuto that he would make him a Corrosive rune at the first available opportunity, Uzuto met up with the rest of the group, where afterwards they went dancing. Ariana Yaxiri and Reiko Amiri were fabulous. Afterwards the group enjoyed carnival games.
The city of the sun is a large one, and contains both the religious center of the Coalition in the Grand Cathedral and an enclave of magic users, the House of the Veiled Seekers. A merchant named Amelique selling projects from the school, magical goods of all kinds, was located in an alleyway around the festival, but mentioned he travels throughout the city and often has new and unusual wares.
