Deva grew up very poor in a farm in the middle of two warring kingdoms, so when she was orphaned by the war and sent to an orphanage in the nearer kingdom of Vienarya, even the dusty orphanage was more comfortable than her previous situation. She quickly became enamored by the wealth of the kingdom and couldn't help but to seize some for herself. It started as simple pickpocketing, but quickly escalated to full on heists. She was 18 when she took the job that changed her life. Though not in the way she expected. She was hired to steal something from the castle. A jewel set into the prince's crown. At this point she was extremely good at sneakery and disguises, as she always had to hide her identity; the people had never seen a vishkyana before and were afraid and distrustful of her, but it wasn't enough. She was caught by the royal army's general. She was taken before the king and queen and, since she had been caught before she had stolen anything, was only guilty of trespassing, though even getting that far showed great skill. The king and queen decided her talents would be better used serving them, so as her punishment she would be made their political assassin until her crime was paid off, at which time she was offered a permanent position as spymaster. Eventually the prince traveled to the new world to spread the influence of the kingdom. Later, a strange woman came to Deva and hired her to find the prince and kill him. And what did she offer her but the original thing she was after. The prince's crown. But there was something off about the woman. Something wrong. However the royal family had always been kind to deva, so she set out to find the prince and warn him, tracking him to the new world.
