Tassie (full name Tarantassia Wunda-Dra'aspir) is a little Draxie Sprite girl formerly living in the Halo, the affluent quarter of Cynosure, and now confined to La Plage, the humbler, middle-class district of the city. She was encountered by Ariana Yaxiri during Unknown, after she snuck away from her home while her mother was entertaining a guest.
Tassie is a truly Tiny creature, a mere child with undeniable Draconic features, each scale a scintillating galaxy. She has platinum-white hair, and if allowed to dress herself, she prefers simple, unrestricting skirts to lavish outfits.
Right and Proper Lady
Tassie belongs to a high-society Fey family. When she was younger, her father died, and she has been raised by her widowed mother, Ruenvida Wunda-Dra'aspir, ever since. They are sometimes struggling to make the ends meet, and were even forced to sell their old mansion and move to La Plage – something that Tassie often forgets, when she returns to her previous home and finds strangers living there.
On the northern edges of the Halo, where it is yet to become La Plage – even if its dazzling glamour grows tarnished – there is a collection of domes and spires nestled around and above a murmuring brook. This is Tarantassia's and Ruenvida's former abode. The elegant architecture looks Elven, and the cluster is surrounded by a lush garden, confined by other adjacent buildings but sufficiently large to somewhat separate the manor from its immediate neighbours. Overall, there are bigger, more impressive residences, but when one takes into consideration that Draxies are much smaller than most other creatures, suddenly this place becomes a regal palace in comparison.

She is a bit of a tomboy, struggling to fit into the culture of high society, to her mother's dismay. Tassie still does her best to make her mama proud, but the protocols, rules, and traditions imposed upon her befuddle her greatly.
Wingless Dragon Aspirant
Due to a birth defect, Tassie failed to sprout her wings when her peers did – something that she occasionally gets bullied for by other children, such as Ceadda, a Draxie boy. Her mother hopes that she is merely a late bloomer, and in the meantime, she was equipped with a set of artifical dragonfly wings, a marvel of clockwork technology and runic, arcane magic. Tassie has to focus on these wings when using them for flight, lest the runes fade and the mechanism starts going offline piece by piece.
Regardless of her impairment, Tassie has aspirations of growing up to be a Dragon. Elucredassa, the Fey Dragonet of Draxie legend, is one of her idols, as is Ariana, ever since the two met.
Ariana quickly learns that Tassie does not have the greatest spacial awareness. Or, at least, if she does, she is unable to appropriately convey it. Her directions are hazy at best, relying on random quirks in the environment, and landmarks that Ariana would never pay attention to, let alone notice at all. It becomes apparent that when Tassie brings up names, she is usually talking about statues that she named herself, regardless of what the plaques on the pedestals say. Some of these statues are instead topiaries, not stone or wood. When Tassie mentions the number of steps, she means her own, not Ariana's. She also rarely uses "ahead", "right", or "left", instead electing to refer to a set of constantly shifting cardinal points unique to Cynosure – Lightwards (when heading in the Tower's direction), Seawards (the same, but for the Ebissian Sea), Glasswise and Antiglasswise (again in relation to the Tower), and others. This quirk, however, is not unique to Tassie, which Ariana understands after walking past numerous exquisitely dressed passersby. - Viktor |
