The skeleton of a Ratfolk pirate. Retired from the seas after his death.
'Bucky', as he was called in life, awoke floating in the ocean, stuffed inside a barrel. He has no idea how long his body remained adrift before he found new life. Unsure why he returned, at first he felt purposeless, lost. He had no direction, figuratively and literally.
It wasn't long before he came upon the remains of a ship, floating debris after what appears to be a devastating naval battle. (Was this the battle that ended his short life? or was he adrift for far longer than this recent battle?) Among the wreckage he found some scraps of clothes and a few items of value. Before long he was happened upon by a fishing vessel, and was pulled aboard. He was offered a job among the crew, and worked with them for some time. He earned the name "Skipper" as a running joke because of the way he was found. They teased that he was the unofficial captain of his own little ship (referring to the barrel floating at sea). After a few run-ins with the supernatural, Buchannon couldn't help but feel it was more than coincidence. Next chance he got, he left the crew in pursuit of other mysteries.
Several questions burn inside the skeletal Ysoki. Why was he returned? What is his connection to the supernatural? What is his role in all this? For now, he carries the dagger he pulled from his ribcage almost religiously, and his curiosity leads him, much like the lantern he carries.
