A few gathered in The Pug were drawn into an interesting conversation, each separately doing their own research into the incident involving the unfortunate demise of Murphy. It appeared the Harkrow had contacted another investigator about this very subject. Before Ash had arrived, Dretal and Toy were drawn into the conversation. Thoroughly curious, we set out for the Millennium Forest.
Upon arrival, we discovered that the tree and hive had healed since the last assault and many of the wasps had died due to starvation, strange considering the abundance of food available. We found that the wasps were infected with some sort of parasite, but Harkrow ended it immediately. We concocted a plan to lure a single wasp away from the hive. Separated from the others, it was easy to subdue. We quickly eliminated the target and I performed an autopsy. In my investigation, we discovered the parasite infecting colony seemed mutated in some way, and not fit for its host. The inspection led to a revelation, the parasite would most likely perform optimally on a humanoid host. It seems related to, or to stem from a particular type of vampire. Vetelarana Vampire.
I have retained a specimen for study, it will be housed at the Paracelsian Clinic.
We engaged the remaining wasps in tactical combat, strategizing our placement before the interaction for optimal results. Despite the fierce attacks and crippling poison, we held fast and managed a victory over the hive. We eradicated the infected, all aside from one that fled while we were preoccupied in the midst of combat.
There were too many leads to follow, our best course of action seemed to be recalling to First Landing and determining which thread to pull, or to split into different investigating parties.
