Kharzul One-Bell

Leader of the Fighters Union

Kharzul One-Bell is a half-orc former arena champion and current chief negotiator for the Fighters Union in Goblintown's Red Pits, renowned for his disciplined presence and uncompromising sense of fairness in matters of combat and contract.

His epithet comes from an old arena tradition: a single bell sounded to signal the end of a match, which he is said to have survived more times than any fighter in his generation. After retiring from active gladiatorial combat due to accumulated injuries, Kharzul transitioned into advocacy, using his firsthand experience to improve conditions for arena fighters. He now negotiates contracts between fighters, promoters, and arena owners, pushing for enforceable recovery periods, medical support, and transparent compensation structures. His reputation as an honest broker is reinforced by his strict adherence to agreements—once Kharzul gives his word, it is considered binding.

Among fighters, Kharzul One-Bell is seen as a rare bridge between the brutality of the arenas and the possibility of fairness within them. To promoters and corrupt organizers, he is a persistent obstacle who understands their systems too well to be easily manipulated. In negotiations, he combines quiet restraint with the authority of someone who has survived countless sanctioned battles. He is not easily intimidated, nor quick to anger, but those who attempt to exploit fighters or violate agreements quickly find themselves facing his methodical and unrelenting scrutiny. While he prefers diplomacy, few doubt his capability in direct confrontation.
