Unit 23 was to be a new age for The Inquisition which brings it into the 21st Century which was created in 1980s CE. It all started with British MI5 agents stumbling on a nest of Vampires in Glasgow. The UK government with such things hushed it for security reasons. It was years later before the Security Services approached Society of Leopold for advice and help. The result of which was the formation of Unit 23 an Ultra Secret team whose purpose was to hunt and destroy all Supernaturals. The only people who know of its existence are very high ranking Vatican Officials and select Officials within the British Secret Services.
Unit 23 can almost do anything in the pursuit of its task including killing people without fear of prosecution. In addition they have access to an extensive range of resources from weapons, technology to specialist Military Units of the British Army. It is in actual fact is a small team of around six people led by an Inquisitor appointed by the Vatican. The rest of the team are laymen who have been selected for the team.
In 2000 CE Unit 23 was wound down and it members were integrated into either Society of Leopold or Specialist Operations Branch 13 of the Met in London. Though its records of its operations are archived in MI5 headquarters in London and still classified as secret.
