The Stielhandgranate design goes back to before the Weltkrieg. The M24 was the most common of these, dating to the interwar years, and was extensively used by German forces during the Second Weltkrieg. It is a concussion grenade, with a long wooden stick attached for long range throwing. Because of its limited fragmentation effects but strong explosive power, it is best used offensively. The design has been reverse engineered in Oceanyka, and millions have been produced.
