The Type 89 is a Japanese 50mm light mortar from WW2. It was designed for fighting in extremely rough terrain with poor logistics, making it wholly suited for use in Oceanyka. Indeed, it has sometimes been called the greatest light mortar of the entire war, and can even be fired by particularly strong individuals from the hip. For this reason it is a coveted weapon in the Oceanykan Federation, over 20 years after its introduction. American soldiers in the Pacific theatre took to calling it the "knee mortar", despite the fact that firing it using one's knee will end up very badly for the shooter.

Compact Firepower - Light Mortars
Light mortars are the smallest class of artillery. They can be transported, set up and fired by an individual soldier with little issue. The hardest part is carrying their ammunition, which tends to be heavier.

This weapon's size is set as Destructive and their weight has a specific number. They can be carried and operated by a single creature without problem.
Common Attributes - National
Shadow Gunnery - Japanese Artillery (WW2)
When the war turned against them, Japanese artillerymen learned to conceal their positions; their pieces stuck out from hidden mountain tunnels, camouflaged lairs and covered-up foxholes, only opening up with a dreadful barrage when the time was right.
EFFECT:
Until this weapon fires, the enemy suffers from a Very Hard DM to their hit rolls against it or the vehicle it is mounted on.
This effect is army-wide; once one weapon with Shadow Gunnery fires, the effect is nullified for the entire army or fleet.
