The SVD is a 7.62x54mmR Soviet sniper rifle. Introduced in 1963 to replace the aging M1891 Mosin-Nagant Rifle, it was designed from the ground up by Yevgeny Dragunov to provide Soviet motorized infantry with the ability to "reach out" and suppress high-value targets at distances exceeding 600 meters. Mechanically, it is a masterpiece of semi-automatic fire; unlike the AK series, it utilizes a short-stroke gas piston system to minimize reciprocating mass, significantly increasing accuracy during follow-up shots. Its skeletonized wood stock and integrated PSO-1 Optical Sniper Sight allow even a standard conscript to perform accurate, long-range fire. Following the Oceanykan Revolution, the SVD was adopted by the Oceanykan People's Army as its standard sniper rifle.
This weapon comes factory-equipped with a removable PSO-1 Optical Sniper Sight.
