Type 1 47mm Rapid-Firing

When the Soviet-Japanese alliance was consolidated, and in the eve of the Pearl Harbour operation, the Japanese high command was well aware that its anti-tank weapons were inadequate against the latest German, American and British designs. With Soviet aid, they designed the Type 1 47mm Rapid-Firing Gun, an anti-tank cannon which quickly became a mainstay in the Imperial Japanese Army. It was also a fearsome anti-personnel weapon in the island hopping campaign and in China. Many made their way to Oceanyka in the Japanese invasion.
