The Polish People's Republic is a Soviet satellite state located in what used to be Poland's eastern borders. Despite the region being historically inhabited mostly by Belarusians, most of Ukraine's, Lithuania's and Latvia's poles were forcefully migrated to this country before and after World War II. It was created as a "mirror state" to the Kingdom of Poland, to inspire and supply Polish revolutionaries, and deligitimise its monarchist counterpart. The PPR is led by General-Secretary Władysław Gomułka, who much like his contemporary Khrushchev, has embarked on a moderate campaign of liberalisation and reconciliation. Unlike its far larger eastern neighbour, but much like its western one, the Polish People's Republic is very heavily militarised for its size.
