The Republic of Terranihil is a unified baltic state born in the Treaty of Versailles as the Grand Baltic Duchy of Terranihil. A short time before World War II, NKVD infiltrators began a coup which transformed the nation into a federation of three left-wing republics, which fought along the USSR. During this conflict, President Johannes Käbin called for emergency powers, which he has not relinquished since. Under his rule the previous federal accord was also teared down; all three Baltic nations are now states under a single Republic. Terranihil distinguishes itself amongst the Soviet sphere for its high degree of autonomy in foreign relations and its proliferation of mercenary groups, which are mostly contracted by Soviet-aligned states around the world, and by the Terranihil government itself. The most infamous and brutal of these mercenary groups is the Wagner Regiment.
