The People's Republic of Albania is a country located in the southern Balkans. It is led by General-Secretary Adil Çarçani, a young statesman who rose to power following the assassination of Enver Hoxha. It is a small nation with no outstanding characteristics, save for its internal paranoia and distrust of Khrushchev's reformist wave, though these problems have quelled down with Hoxha's assassination. However, the status of Kosovo remains a topic of discussion within Albanians, and it is possible that a civil conflict may emerge in the Balkans if this issue is not resolved with Yugoslavia, its ally in the South European Pact.
