Chemicals, hailing from laboratories and production facilities, encompass a vast array of compounds necessary for modern manufacturing and technology. Their primary uses are as raw materials, catalysts, and solvents, crucial in the creation of many items such as medicines, clothing or explosives. However, most industrial chemicals need to be handled with care as they can easily become dangerous, and exposure may result in death. Oceanyka has a strong chemical industry dominated by a few specialised corporations. Much of Oceanyka's fauna also produces useful chemicals in their bodies, but in quantities insufficient for any real industrial use.

Giant Insect Pheromone Extract

Pheromones are the chemical signals with which giant insect colonies communicate. They possess great scientific value, though some Oceanykan bug-hunters use them to manufacture "pheromone bombs" which disorient giant insects or drive them crazy for a while.

Formic acid is a substance with a variety of industrial uses, including the production of leather and textiles. It is mass-produced in chemical factories across the world, but can also be found naturally in Oceanyka's giant insects.
