The Lavochkin La-5 is a Soviet fighter aircraft used primarily during the Great Patriotic War, capable of going toe-to-toe with any Allied fighter. Its most common model is the La-5FN, which includes fuel injection amongst other airframe improvements. The La-5 had two 20mm cannons in the nose and could also carry rockets or bombs under the wings. The La-5 was one of the most capable and mass-produced Soviet fighters of the war.
