The United Nations Counter-Strike Force is an elite multinational special operations unit established in the wake of the 1968 Mexico City Terrorist Attacks to combat international terrorism with speed, precision, and overwhelming force. Answering directly to the United Nations (UN) Security Council, COSFOR is composed of the most highly trained operators in Earth, creating an unprecedented fusion of expertise from East and West. Designed for rapid response, its teams can deploy anywhere in the world within 12 hours, conducting high-risk hostage rescues, targeted eliminations, and surgical strikes against terror networks. Equipped with cutting-edge weaponry, advanced intelligence assets, and diplomatic immunity to bypass national bureaucracy, COSFOR quickly became the most feared and politically controversial counterterrorist force in history. Though celebrated for a number of decisive operations throughout the 1970s, it has also faced allegations of extrajudicial killings, covert regime changes, and secret wars fought beyond the public eye. COSFOR's main rival in the international stage is the Children of God, the most powerful Salafist organisation in the planet.
At the outbreak of World War III, COSFOR was made up of three battalions, all of which defected alongside the United Nations Solar Fleet, forming the core of the UN Orbital Marines.
