Hartmann's Solution, scientifically known as compound sodium lactate, is a solution used to restore bodily fluids, particularly after suffering from grievous wounds and blood loss, thus preventing hypovolemic shock and helping restore the body's normal functions. It is given to the patient via intravenous infusion, a procedure which necessitates at least a certain degree in competency in first aid.
