The Post-Conceptual Layer is also known as the Midnight Zone, as the Lighthouse is but a tiny speck of light only occasionally visible in a sea of turbulent darkness. It represents a terrifying vertical drop into a realm where the very fabric of reality is stripped of its meaning. In this layer, space and time are no longer constants but variables that can be twisted, folded, or discarded entirely. There is no "up" or "down" here, only an endless horizon of non-Euclidean fractals and impossible colours that exist outside the visible spectrum. This is the domain of abstract principles such as Justice, Entropy, and Symmetry, which take on physical mass and sentient, often predatory intent. To an observer, the Post-Conceptual Layer looks like a kaleidoscope made of screaming glass; every Living Dream is actually a sentient theorem or a living law of physics that is actively trying to rewrite the observer to fit its own internal logic. It is a realm of pure, unadulterated chaos, acting as the laboratory where the fundamental building blocks of the universe are tested and broken.

Survival in the Midnight Zone is nearly impossible without the most advanced psi-protection. The most common inhabitants of this layer are the "Sentient Geometries", eldritch beings that lack any recognizable biology or psychology. They do not hunt for food or power; they hunt for "Solution." When a human soul enters this layer, these entities perceive it as a mathematical error in their environment, a foreign variable that must be "solved" or "deleted." This process often results in grievous warping of the body and mind, or in the best of cases, total and immediate erasure. Those few who survive a descent into the Post-Conceptual Layer are often Soulwound.

Entering the Post-Conceptual Layer without a well-built Blackboat is a fast-pass ticket to a fate worse than death. Even the best of these machines can do very little if spotted and caught by the Layer's heartless inhabitants.
