The XM1 Abrams is an American prototype main battle tank designed by Chrysler Defence. It is effectively an all-American competitor to the MBT-70 program which relies on brute force rather than bleeding edge technology, armed with a licensed copy of the Royal Ordnance L7 105mm cannon and protected by Chobham armour, a new secretive composite material capable of brushing aside all but the most modern of eastern ordnance with ease. The XM1 is powered by an enormous Honeywell AGT1500 gas turbine engine capable of guzzling most types of fuel, providing 1,500hp of power and allowing the tank to reach over 70km/h with a governor. Combat trials seem to indicate that the XM1 Abrams is superior to all current Soviet tanks, though it may be a match for prototypes such as the secretive โObject 172U "Ural"โ. It is said that American forces infiltrated in Oceanyka are field-testing the XM1, but these rumours are uncertain.

HEAT Resistant
This vehicle's armour is particularly designed to the withstand the effects of chemical High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) munitions.
EFFECT:
Whenever an enemy attacks with a HEAT Shell, a HEAT-FS Shell, a HEAT Rifle Grenade, an HEDP Hi-Low Grenade or an Anti-Tank Launcher ๐, increase this part of the armour by +1 ARM.
Note: plus signs (+) denote greater ARM bonuses. For example, "HEAT Resistant+" would grant +2 ARM.
Night Vision
This headwear, or certain equipment within a vehicle, intensify ambient light and detect near-visible infrared light, allowing their user to see even in complete darkness.
EFFECT:
Ignore any penalty to ranged attacks at night or in the darkness associated with the Terrain & Darkness Rules.
Reinforced Turret
This vehicle's turret armour is particularly high when compared to its hull armour.
EFFECT:
If at Half Cover or Full Cover, increase this part of the armour's ARM by +1.
If not at cover, when attacked, roll 1d6. On a 4+, increase this part of the armour's ARM by +1 until the attack is over.

Stabilised
This weapon is fit with a stabiliser, allowing it to fire on the move without a loss in accuracy.

This headwear, or certain equipment within a vehicle, can detect the infrared emissions of hotter objects and the lack thereof in colder objects.

Ignore any penalty to ranged attacks at night or in the darkness associated with the Terrain & Darkness Rules.
Additionally, add an Easy DM to all hit rolls.

US combat doctrine shifted in the late 20th century toward "AirLand Battle" In the ground, this means emphasizing synchronized, high-speed manoeuvre and the use of superior technology, such as advanced optics and digital fire control systems, to strike the enemy from distances they cannot hope to return. American tankers at the eve of World War III are trained to "see first, shoot first, and kill first."
