This discipline allows for the spontaneous transmutation of common atmospheric gases into corrosive acids, the synthetisation of complex materials such as fuel from simpler ones like coal, or the stabilization of volatile explosives that would otherwise detonate under the slightest vibration.

At its higher tiers, Chemolurgy approaches the realm of molecular architecture, where the practitioner can rewrite the composition of solid matter to induce structural failure or to create entirely new compounds with non-standard physical properties. A practitioner can target the molecular binds in an enemy’s armour plate to make it as brittle as glass or manipulate the pH levels of a target's internal fluids to induce systemic organ failure. The psychological burden of this branch is defined by a microscopic focus; the caster must maintain a mental map of complex periodic tables and reaction enthalpies to avoid creating unintended toxic by-products or triggering an uncontrolled exothermic runaway.
