Salma Rahir

Sundry-Master of Ashkarin

You break it, you bought it. You survive it, you earn a story.”

Salma Rahir is a weathered fixture of Ashkarin’s adventuring scene—a former caravan master turned outfitter with a shop full of rare gear and hard-won wisdom. Lean, sharp-eyed, and quick with a wry insult or biting advice, she’s the kind of woman who’s buried friends, fought off bandits, and outpaced storms—and lived to tell about it.

She walks with a carved yew prosthetic in place of her left leg and leans on a gnarled staff etched with strange notches, names, and symbols. Her shop, Salma’s Sundries & Supply, caters to serious travelers, wilderness scouts, and treasure-hunters heading into Stonehell or the Forest of Pillars. If she doesn’t carry it, she knows someone who does.

She trades in gear, rumors, local guides, and the kind of partial maps that no one admits to owning. She also has a reputation for cutting deals in private—especially when nobles or guilds want to keep secrets from surfacing.

🐕 Ketch

Salma’s loyal, one-eyed hound, Ketch, is nearly as famous as she is. Scarred, silent, and slow to trust, the old dog rarely leaves her side. Locals say he can sniff out lies and growls before danger even appears. Others swear he once bit a man who turned out to be a necromancer in disguise. Salma never denies it.

🗣️ Common Local Sayings:

  • “You want to live long in the wild? Start by buying your gear from Salma.”

  • “If Ketch doesn’t like you, Salma won’t either.”

  • “She’s seen more tombs than most priests and more maps than the Tower’s scribes.”

  • “That dog’s smarter than some of the merchants.”
