Description
Near the end of the first era, the nations of mortals having reached their peak form under the rule of the powerful and wise Dragonlords, they started wishing for freedom. Not that they were enslaved, but they wanted one of their own kind to be ruling them, not a creature they could not fully comprehend. How it all started, still remains unclear, but it was not a coincidence. Whispers about bringing down the dragon rule, spread across several nations all over the world around the same time. It was hardly questioned, though. Mortal races saw no need to be under the dragons' protection, since the gods showed no sign of causing any further damage to the world. Some nations tried to ask their dragons to leave. Others preferred violence from the start. No matter what the start was, after few decades, all Caldarian nations, except the Crimson Kingdom, formed joined Dragon Hunting forces, in order to drive the dragons away or kill them.
To mortals' surprise, the whole operation proved to be easier than expected. The Dragonlords seemed weaker than they originally thought, and some simply fled and hid right away. One white Dragonlord was killed, and her skull became one of the most valuable trophies in Arda's history.
Consequences
The dragons abandoned the mortal nations, leaving them without their protection and wisdom. Deep hatred was born in the hearts of Dragonborn, from this blasphemous act. Despite willing to go to war against the world to help their ancestors, they were instructed not to. For centuries, they declined to help the other races in any matter.
Notable Participants
The organized armed forced were named Dragonbane. Razgar, Deneva and Pelovius, three members that showed exceptional talent in fighting dragons, became the heroes of many tales that followed.
