Iskar is the god of crafts, trade, and inventions, revered by artisans and merchants alike. He often showed up as a strong and sturdy figure with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creativity. He is known for his love of fairness in trade and his belief in the value of hard work and craftsmanship.
In the Lands of Arda, it is said that Iskar has the power to breathe life into inanimate objects, imbuing them with his creative spirit. He is often depicted holding a hammer or other crafting tool, symbolizing his connection to the world of artisanship and invention. Iskar originally was in the Emerald group, favoring neutrality. When Dominaria switched sides to the Silver fragments, he also decided that he had to help the golden fragments. According to his faithful, that was because of the realization that trade and crafts in Arda would benefit from good-aligned societies. His empty spot in the Emerald group was filled soon after by Oromne.
Iskar is a god who values his word and always keeps his promises. He is known to reward those who work hard and are fair in their dealings, but he is also quick to punish those who try to cheat or exploit others. Innovative ideas and clever crafts often were sent as dreams by Iskar.
Celebrations
One of the most notable events associated with Iskar is the Festival of Crafts, a celebration of the god's power and influence over the world of trade and invention. During this festival, artisans from all across the Lands of Arda come together to showcase their finest wares and compete for the title of Master Craftsman, awarded by Iskar himself.
Appearance
In the eyes of mortals, Iskar appears as a muscular man with a thick beard and massive arms, always smiling, and weathered skin, reflecting his close connection to the earth and his love of manual labor. He is often depicted wearing golden armor or simple, sturdy clothing, appropriate for his role as a patron of artisans and tradespeople.
