Zeriax, also known as the Silver King, is the leader of the silver fragments and brother of Maldos. Many mortals think he's the source of all evil that exists. The conflict between him and his brother is what caused the War that broke the world. He's the most powerful fragment between the evil and the neutral ones, rivaling his brother's power. Death as a concept is purely attributed to him, and stories say that if Zeriax didn't come to Arda, everyone would live forever. He's also responsible for the creation of Arda's two moons, Selenius and Rebrumius. Zeriax rarely appeared in front of mortals unless there was a large death count. In cases of high death counts, he would often appear and watch from a distance. Some said he wanted to feed on the energy of death as soon as possible. Others claimed they came there to lead their lives to the afterlife. Zeriax is a powerful and imposing figure, embodying death and the afterlife. He holds the power over all souls that have passed, and has the ability to grant life or take it away. He is associated with the moon and its cyclical nature, reflecting the constant cycle of life, death and rebirth. He is also seen as the patron of pain and selfishness, encouraging his followers to act in their own self-interest, often at the expense of others. Zeriax commands some deadly creatures, that some lesser fragments referred to as Avatars of Zeriax, however mortals ended up to call the Grim Reapers. Their exact purpose is unknown, but they often appear near someone's death. Whether they kill or not is not known.
As brother of Maldos, the good aligned god of the sun, it created a complicated relationship between them. While they were once close, their differing ideologies have driven them apart, and their followers are often in conflict. Zeriax also has a close relationship with Krevor, the god of war, and Oromne, the neutral god of power and endurance. They often work together to further their goals.
Zeriax's facial feature in his mortal form, largely remain unknown. Only some of his revered champions claim to have seen his face. They describe him as a silver haired man with a scar on his left eye, and a gaze that feels like needles piercing your heart. In all his public appearances, he showed as a warrior clan in silver heavy armor, wielding a spear-like weapon or staff.
Zeriax is considered a lawful evil deity, who seeks to control and dominate all other gods and mortals. He is arrogant and confident, viewing himself as superior to all other beings. He is also very selfish, caring only for his own desires and ambitions. Despite this, he is also cunning and intelligent, and is able to manipulate situations to his advantage.
"Night of the Damned" is a yearly event dedicated to Zeriax. It takes
place on the longest night of the year, and is marked by acts of terror
and violence committed by his followers. Mortals are abducted and taken
to secret locations, where they are subjected to horrific rituals and
sacrifices. The event is seen as a celebration of Zeriax's power and
influence, and is used to strike fear into the hearts of those who would
oppose him. During that night, all good mortals experience an overwhelming feeling of fear, which only intensifies when they meet with Zeriax's devout followers. It is a dark day of the year when most people barricade themselves inside and try to hide.
