Izalith

Fragment
Deity

Izalith, The Silver Princess, The Mistress of Schemes, is a fragment of the Silver group. By some, she is considered the most harmful deity to mortals. By others, she revered as a mother figure. She's one of the most controversial deities, due to her often plots and schemes that often bring chaos in the both the Divine Realm and mortal worlds alike. She's the most cunning and devious of all the fragments. No matter what plane or world they were in, Izalith would always have some kind of secret running in the background. She fed off strong emotions like jealousy, cruelty and greed and always provided incentives for mortals to indulge in those. Words from her mouth rarely contain the whole truth. Except when she talked to DominariaFor reasons unknown to mortals, ancient knowledge said that Izalith would never lie to Dominaria and admired her the most from all the fragments. When Izalith's plans and schemes were becoming too much for the other fragments, they had Dominaria step in to reign Izalith. While she had no desires of total control or absolute power, Izalith was still one of the strongest fragments. That was due to being the creator of many sinful and strong feelings. Feelings like envy and greed, the very concept of lying and manipulation are attributed to her. As mortal societies grew larger, those concepts became more and more prominent, to give Izalith so much power. For the most part of the world's creation, Izalith worked alone, hidden from the other Fragments' view, keeping her creations secret. Later on, two of her secret creations came to haunt the Lands of Arda: The Shadow Realm realm and Unknown. While not confirmed, some believed that it was the fragment that secretly gave Unknown the tools and knowledge to fight against Fragments during the War that broke the world.

Going back to the earliest of recorded history, mortals reported that Izalith worked very closely with Oromne. They often appeared together in front of the mortal races, and looked alike. That gave them the "Twin Gods" title. The Twin Gods caused a lot of trouble in the world, upsetting the balance between mortal societies and playing games with them. After Dominaria switched sides from the good fragments to the evil ones, Izalith started working with her closely and having great respect of her. Some said it was Izalith's plan that made Dominaria betray the Golden Fragments. Oromne did not like this change as he lost his partner, which later led to Oromne switching to the neutral gods.

Appearance

When Izalith showed herself in front of mortals, she took the form of a humanoid with black angelic wings. Silver hair and golden eyes were a constant amongst her forms, while the rest of her appearance switched from a well-dressed lady to royal garments or a witch's outfit. As some lesser fragments that are under her lineage confirmed later, she often took other forms and walked amongst societies, promoting further her schemes.

Celebrations

Celebrations in her name are not common. Only Halflings, Hexbloods and Gith had an annual celebration in her name, The celebration in Izalith's name is called the "Game of Schemes". It is a yearly event held on the longest night of the year. The celebrations are held in secret, away from the prying eyes of the other fragments. Only the most devoted followers of Izalith are invited to attend. During the Night of Schemes, participants gather in hidden locations and engage in elaborate games of strategy and deception. These games test the cunning and wit of the participants, as they try to outsmart each other and prove their devotion to the Silver Princess. The winner of the games is said to receive a blessing from Izalith, granting them a portion of her power and allowing them to better execute their own schemes. In addition to the games, participants also engage in rituals to honor Izalith. These rituals involve offerings of silver and gold, symbols of the goddess's cunning and wealth. The participants also recite prayers and pledges of loyalty to Izalith, asking for her guidance and protection in their own schemes. The Night of Schemes is a dangerous event, as the followers of Izalith can be treacherous and unpredictable. Many participants come to the event armed, prepared for any possible betrayals or back stabbings. Despite this, the Night of Schemes remains a highly anticipated event amongst the followers of the Silver Princess, who see it as an opportunity to come together and celebrate their goddess's power and influence.
Vampires, who are believed to be a direct creation of Izalith, hold a celebration in her name every 12 years, in which many mortal captives are sacrificed in her name and a massive blood feast takes place. The event is called
Blood Calling.
